The Sonora Area Foundation and a partner organization have offered $75,000 in matching funding to maintain Railtown 1897 Historic Parking Jamestown.
The foundation’s announcement Thursday followed the defeat Tuesday of Measure C, which would have raised a county lodging tax to support the county fairgrounds and Railtown, which the state has threatened to close July 1 due to budget constraints.
